Welcome To Chemistry Department

Department of chemistry was established in 1979, amongst various departments, chemistry is the largest department of science faculty. The department offers courses from undergraduate to Ph.D. At the postgraduate level, there are three specializations, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Analytical Chemistry. The department also offers M.Sc. by research & Ph.D. centre with three research guides. The department has 08 well-equipped laboratories, a separate departmental staffroom. The department is ICT-enabled with smart classrooms and other modern teaching aids to facilitate the teaching-learning process. The current faculty members have a diverse research interest in various branches of chemistry. All members are actively engaged in research activities. Common instrument facility of the college includes CHNS analyzer, FTIR, UV-VIS spectrophotometer, Soil analysis kit, BOD & COD apparatus Gouy's balance and water effluent treatment plant for laboratory waste, etc. Department offers separate departmental library facility for faculty and students and placement service to UG, PG students. Many alumni of department occupy esteemed positions like academicians, scientists, administrators, etc. in India and abroad. We have an active alumni network called the ‘Chemistry alumni association of KBP College (CAKBPV), plays a prominent role in both academic and infrastructure development of the department.
