Vision

To expose the students to multi-dimensional, cultural, social, economical, philosophical and political contexts implied in the literary works, thereby to aim all round development of the students. The efforts are made for diverse features by inculcating linguistic, artistic and critical skills.

Mission

To build a student-centered department to equip students to be critical and creative thinkers, clear communicators and compassionate leaders, through the pursuit of academic excellence within a diverse and inclusive environment so that learners can address the upcoming challenges and strengthen social justice and humanitarianism.

Aims and Objectives

• To introduce wide range of current programmes in the study of English Language and Literature
• To enhance students’ literary and linguistic competence
• To help students to acquire competence in spoken English
• To enable the vernacular medium students to use English confidently
• To bring the students in the flow of research
