Rayat Shikshan Sanstha’s Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College, Vashi Navi Mumbai, Autonomous College, has always offered student-centric learning with the need of bridging the gap between academia and Industry by means of offering innovative courses. The department of Bioanalytical Sciences was established in the year 2008-09 offering the interdisciplinary course in Master of Sciences guided by University Grant Commissions.
The prime objective of the course is to prepare the students as independent learners and trained professionals in the field of biological analysis by giving hands-on training and inculcating scientific temperament. Being an Industry oriented course the course offers an application perspective of recent and advanced Bioanalytical technologies. The course is designed to offer the thriving young minds to explore the recent trends in the area of Advance Analytical Instrumentation, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, GMP, GLP, QA & QC, Good Clinical Practices and Clinical Data Management, etc.
The department consists of two advanced instrumentation laboratories with one ICT-enabled classroom. The labs contain sophisticated Analytical Instruments such as High-performance Liquid Chromatography (Jasco-L Nget, Gas Chromatography (Shimadzu), FT-Infrared Spectroscopy (Alpha T-Bruker), Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (Shimadzu), UV Spectrometer (Lab-India), etc. The advancements in the department facilities have encouraged students to work individually for their research projects involving advanced instrumentation.
The department is actively involved in providing students with advanced skill-based courses, workshops, and seminars with skilled, resourceful industrial persons. The course requires students to complete three months of Internship/On job training to understand the industry working environment. The well-qualified faculty members of the department constantly strive to inculcate scientific temperament, analytical thinking, and good communication skills between the students to accomplish the goal of graduating as trained professionals.
