About Department:

Welcome to the Department of Mathematics at KarmaveerBhaurao Patil College, Vashi. The department works with the objective of addressing critical challenges faced by the academia, industry, and the society. Perhaps even more important is our unceasing commitment to our students, helping them to learn, grow, develop, and achieve their goals in their pursuit to excel in their professional careers. To achieve this, from the academic year 2021-22, we have implemented the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) pattern as per the NEP, 2020. Through this, the department offers skill based courses as a part of the curriculum to enhance employability.

The department was established in 1979 and since its inception, the department has evolved from offering only undergraduate course (BSc in Mathematics) to offering postgraduate programme (MSc in Mathematics). 

The department encompasses a fine blend of renowned as well as young and dynamic faculties.The faculty takes an active interest in research and development activities.The department strives to provide a conducive environment for the students to develop analytical and practical skills and apply them to real world problems. To motivate the students the department organizes regular training programs and workshops. Every year, the final year students of the department organize an intercollegiate fest to mark the celebration of National Mathematics Day on 22nd December. 

The department library, encouragement to appear for extra- and co-curricular activities and many other academic excellences will certainly pave a red carpet welcome to the hard working students in the field of mathematics.
